My favorite sport is basketball, but I play many more than just that one sport. Basketball is really fun to me.Also It calms me down when I'm angry or sad. So u can say it's like a relaxer. I started playing basketball at the age of 6,7, or 8. I never played on a team until my 10th grade year in highschool at Thurgood Marshall Academy. Now I'm a senior I highschool and play for the varsity team. It's been hard because the competition is better , but I like that because it makes me better playing against people that's also good themselves. If basketball wasn't created I would be sad , and probably would have been a soccer player, but I'm happy it was created. I don't know what I would do with oh basketball. 

In my 1st period class which is my government class is very hard. The work ethic is hard but that is probably because I'm a senior and I'm getting lazy already. We are learning a lot of stuff that is very good information we should know because it's going on in our government and society. Right now we have a big project due and it's about cases that had been fought in the past about a law. I really need to do it but honestly I'm so tired and I never seem to have time to do it. We also talk about our rights and how sometimes the police doesn't respect them. Cops even try to trick you just to deny your rights. Also we are learning about civil and criminal cases. Civil cases has to do with stuff like family problems and criminal cases has to do with law breaking.

I do not really like reading, but I love watching movies. I guess you can say I am a visual learner. When I read books I can't really comprehend , but movies I understand more. I don't know why that is but it's just the way I see things I guess. One of my favorite movies is "Waterboy" with Adam Sandler and I love it not only because it is rediculously funny , but because it had a message that I interpreted behind it. Adam played the role as a kid that was home schooled and didn't really have friends and was sought out to be a dummy. People only thought he was stupid until he showed his amazing talent I football and then people liked him. People still thought he was stupid until he passed his test I the 90 range to play in his championship game. So all I'm really saying is that no one can tell you who you are or what you are. So you have to prove people wrong and that's what Adam Sandler did in "Waterboy". 

Today I will be writing about what has been going on in my English class. It has bee very productive this week. My class have been learning about close reading and how it can help us. Also how to actually do it. I'm not really a reading type of guy. Honestly I never even really read a whole book. I may have read some pages , but not every single page. I know that's probably bad , but books really bore me and I can stay focused. But actually reading a text and annotating it helps me get a better understanding of it. That's what we have been doing in class. Also when annotating a text it helps me, so when I foget what I just read I can look at my notes and it can remind me or give me a little summary of what the text is about. So I kind of like what we have been doing in class. I like it because it can help me in the future. And what I mean by the future is COLLEGE because I heard I will have to be doing a lot of reading when I get there. 

Passion is a something that everyone has for something in their life. The definition of passion is a strong and barely controllable emotion. I do not have a passion for a lot of things but i have a passion for more than one thing. I have a passion for basketball. I do not know why i love the game of basketball so much. It never was clear to me how i could be so angry in the day, but when i touch a ball and play everything leaves my mind that was making me feel angry. I guess i can say basketball clears my mind, might even make me emotionless for the moment. I Been playing ball since i was about five years old. I may not be the best in basketball, but that will not make me stop playing and chasing my dreams. I am not dumb though. I have a plan B and that is to graduate high school and college when i get there.That is my other passion, to graduate. It is my passion because i been in school probably since five and now i am seventeen. So i do not want all this time to go to waist. Also i want my mother to be proud of me, also my father even though he is not here with me. Just to walk across that stage and be handed my diploma will feel like the best accomplishment i have ever achieved. Those are my two passions and my two passions only.

     Hi, my name is Joseph Boomer. I am 17 years old, which means i was born September 10, 1997. My first name was given to me because my mom wanted me to have a biblical name. My last name was given to me because I was my father's first son, so he wanted me to have his last name.
     Everyone thinks of me as cool, funny, and always happy. Some people may even think I got it good and by that I mean I do not have no worries or problems just because of the way I act or carry myself. What most people do not know is that I honestly have a tough life behind doors. The way I was brought up was to not bring the negative energy everywhere I go. So that is why I may seem happy all the time, but i may not be feeling happy. Sometimes my smile does not represent my happiness but my smile sometimes is my best cover up.
     The way i would describe myself is cool, fun, emotional, athletic, and masculin. I think im cool because i dont have no problem making new friends and treating them as if i knew them longer than I do. I am fun because I love going out and having a good time. I am emotional because I have feelings but i do not show them so they get built up.I am athletic because i play many sports, such as basketball,baseball, football, soccer, ping pong, and tennis. My favorite sport is basketball though. I also said I was masculine because I do not like doing feminine things so i try to stay as manly as possible. One characteristic I left out was funny, even when I'm not feeling good I can still make someone laugh. I think that is the best quality about me because not alot of people can do that and I am happy to say that I can.
